PREDICTION: Texas Tech returns to action against Arizona

LUBBOCK, Texas – The Texas Tech Soccer team returns to action against Arizona on Sunday at the John Walker Soccer Complex. The start is set at 19:00

Coming off a 2-0 win over Troy, the Red Raiders (1-0-0) will face Arizona (1-0-0) to round out the first week of action.

Macy Blackburn He led the way Thursday, recording assists on both of Tech’s goals. The sophomore was also the Red Raiders’ only preseason All-Big 12 team selection.

Arizona opened the 2022 campaign with a win over fellow Big 12 Iowa State. The Wildcats came from behind to tie the game in the 81st minute before an own goal in the 85th.th minute closed the deal. Quincy Bonds scored Arizona’s goal in the 81stSt minute after a Sami Baytosh corner.

  • Macy Blackburn was the Red Raiders’ lone preseason All-Big 12 selection. The defenseman led the team with nine assists last season and collected All-Freshman All-Big 12 Team, Second Team All-Midwest Region and TopDrawerSoccer.com All-Freshman Second Team honors.
  • After leading the team with nine assists a year ago, Blackburn picked up right where he left off, tallying two against Troy in the opener.
