If you also love to apply WhatsApp status, there is good news for you. In fact, WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will make it easier for users to see or track the status of their family and friends. According to a new report, WhatsApp is planning to introduce a feature that will display users’ status updates within the chat list itself. We tell you that till now users can only see the delivery status of messages with single and double checkmarks and the last message shared with the contact in the WhatsApp chat list. Apart from this, the messaging app also shows whether the message sent by the recipient has been read or not. All this information appears under the contact’s name. Now, new WhatsApp feature tracking site WABetaInfo has reported in its report that the company plans to change that.
Here’s how the new feature will work
A screenshot of the sharing feature shared by the blog site shows that when the feature hits the app, WhatsApp users will see a status update with the contact’s name instead of the last shared message. The blog site said that “when a contact uploads a new status update, it will also appear in the chat list – all you have to do is tap their profile picture to see the status update.”

Users will also be able to revert to old settings
This can prove to be a useful feature for those people who like to share status updates on WhatsApp. The blog site said users who don’t like seeing or updating the status will have the option to revert to the current settings. All status updates should be disabled for this alone.

feature available for Android WhatsApp beta
It’s worth noting that this feature was first reported earlier this year, but WhatsApp has now started rolling it out for select beta users. In terms of availability, the blog says that the feature is available in the beta version of WhatsApp for Android, version 2.22.18.17. iOS users are expected to get access to this feature soon.
