THE FLOORS – Great basketball won’t be the only attraction for Georgia Tech fans attending the Yellow Jackets’ 2022-23 home opener at McCamish Pavilion.
Starting with a clothing raffle and a $10,000 shooting contest when Tech opens the season Monday night against Clayton State (7:30 p.m.), plenty of on-court giveaways and promotions are planned for all six home games out of conference in November and December.
These are the scheduled promotions:

The Jackets’ core includes a trio of rising sophomores Dallan “Deebo” Coleman (Memphis, Tennessee), Miles Kelly (Stone Mountain, Ga.) i Jalon Moore (Birmingham, Ala.)as well as junior base Deivon Smith (Loganville, Ga.). The Jackets have also added a pair of promising transfers at guard Lance Terry (College Park, Ga.) from Gardner-Webb and beyond Yes’ by Franklin (Little Rock, Ark.) from South Alabama, both earned all-conference recognition last season.
Competitive impulse initiative
In a unified effort, Georgia Tech, the Georgia Tech Foundation, Georgia Tech athletics and the Alexander-Tharpe Fund have joined to accelerate scholarship funding for student athletes with the launch of the Competitive Drive Initiative. The initiative kicks off with the Accelerate GT Match program, where any new gift to the AT Fund’s athletic scholarship fund made through Dec. 31 will be matched dollar for dollar by the Georgia Tech Foundation, up to $2.5 million. Should Accelerate GT reach its fundraising goal of $2.5 million, the matching gift would have an impact of $5 million for Georgia Tech athletics.
