WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) – Mount Pleasant Baptist Church hosted its fifth annual sock giveaway on Saturday.
They offered free books, hot dogs, coupons for free haircuts, and school supplies. The church also has a clothing bank for families who need more than just socks.
Members of the MSU Texas football team were also there.
“We thought it would be a good way to encourage our kids and help them know and let them know that they’re not in this for themselves and that we’re thinking of them,” said Rose Perry, Deacon’s wife . “Anything we can do to cheer kids up and make them feel good on the first day of school, that’s what we’re going to try to do.”
The remaining clothes will be donated to shelters.
