EL DAURAT, Ark. (KTVE/KARD): The location has changed for an annual school supply giveaway that was supposed to be held at Mattock’s Park.
Veronica Bailey, Founder and Executive Director of Meet Me at the Court, announced the Sharion Bailey Whitlock Backpack and School Supplies Giveaway: “From Court to Class” is still scheduled for Saturday, August 20th at 3pm , but the location has changed due to rain. It will be held at the Frank Hash Tailgate Pavilion behind the TAC House, located at 1101 N. West Ave.
This is the ninth year that Meet Me at the Court has provided materials to area parents and children before the school year. Bailey said this gift is in honor of her late sister, Sharion Bailey Whitlock, who was a school teacher.
“Every year is more exciting! We want to help relieve the burdens of our local parents. With inflation, that’s a big help,” Bailey explains.
The school supply giveaway will be a highway event, Bailey said.
