5 THINGS TO KNOW: How to enter this year’s $10,000 Downtown McAlester Annual Raffle | Local news

Organizer Jeanie McCabe details the annual $10,000 cash giveaway planned for Dec. 20 in downtown McAlester.

1 What is the 2022 McAlester $10,000 Christmas Raffle?

The event is brought to you each year by the non-profit organization The McAlester Christmas Promotion. People shop at participating businesses to win tickets to be placed in a large hopper for a drawing for various prizes up to the grand prize of $10,000 in cash.

2 How can I get tickets?

Shoppers who visit one of the 87 participating McAlester-area businesses will receive a free ticket when they visit with an additional ticket for every $10 spent up to $1,000, for a total of 101 tickets. Companies can donate more tickets if they want, according to McCabe.

3 Are there ways to watch and listen to the drawing live if I don’t want to stay in the center?

The drawing will be streamed live on the McAlester’s $10,000 Christmas Giveaway drawing Facebook page and the McAlester News-Capital Facebook page. McAlester Radio will also have the drawing live on one of their radio stations.

4 How much time do I have to get on stage?

Those with a winning ticket have exactly 5 minutes to take the stage at Second Street and Choctaw Avenue from the time the ticket number is called, regardless of how you are watching or listening. Winners must be 18 years of age with valid photo ID and winning ticket in hand before entering the stage within 5 minutes.

5 What other prizes will be awarded?

Cash prizes, including the $10,000 grand prize, may be “a little more special” this year. Other prizes are being finalized and will be announced at a later date. Prize announcements will be made on the “McAlester’s $10,000 Christmas Giveaway” giveaway Facebook page.
