5 deadliest gifts you grew up in the Boston area

Ben Affleck turned 50 on Monday and we here at “Slater and Marjo In The Morning” were excited to talk about it. We love Ben. We love “The Town” and Bennifer 2.0 and more.

I also grew up in the Boston area and things from my childhood always pop into my head, so here’s another list. 😂

Going to the beach as a kid was great and my mom took us a lot. It was always a plus when the beach didn’t smell! Rotten eggs, toxic waste, poo; However you described the smell, it was just a nice non-toxic brown algae that washes up on land and dries on rocks and then stinks! We used to joke that the scent would stop right at Lynn’s line.

For some reason, bagels surged in popularity in the mid-1990s, even though they had been a mainstream hit since the 1970s here in the United States. well In 1996, however, Dunkin’ Donuts introduced bagels to their menu! I was a high school student at the time because I loved it. I do miss the sundried tomato bagel though! America’s favorite bagel? The bagel of everything.

When I was a kid, even though we all liked The Red Sox, they lost. A lot. A few seasons here and there were good, but they mostly suffocated, especially in 1986. When the news of Vin Scully’s death hit the world a few weeks ago, I googled famous moments Scully was there to relay , Kirk Gibson was one. of them and Bill Buckner was the other. The ball went through his legs in Game 6 of the ’86 World Series against the Mets and the Red Sox ultimately lost the series, although they still could have won in Game 7. Just saying. Buckner was really a good player.

I think these two were on our TVs for my entire childhood, kind of when the news was kind of news. I had no idea they were partners in real life though! They were married from 1975 to 2000. Curtis passed away in 2014 and Jacobson is still alive at 79!

God I hated it lol. When I was in first grade, my mother insisted, but only the older teachers would kiss me on the cheek. I was waiting for my girl crush, but it didn’t happen.
