Many Marvel and Disney studios may have a lot of money to throw around, but in the end, so do games. But Marvel seems very close to diving into the gaming pool. At the moment, there are four AAA titles signed and two more, which are not valid.
Marvel’s first family deserves a proper video game adaptation.
The closest game to full release is Midnight Suns. Unfortunately, the Games for Firaxis has pushed it back to early next year. While Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine are at least a year away from hitting stores. Finally, there’s the untitled Marvel game headed up by Sky Dance New Media, led by Amy Hennig, creator of The Uncharted and Soul Reaver. Interestingly, this is the most interested person on the internet, in part due to a recent leak.
The Fantastic Four game, which will be released at the same time as the new live-action adaptation, will get a lot of sales in the market with less effort.
Mark Bernardin revealed on a Kevin Smith podcast that Skydance New Media is probably making a Fantastic Four game. Both have declined to be named in general. To the extent that you can get the answer right, he responded by saying that he has already got it right. There’s also the correct answer: Skydance New Media’s first AAA title is based on an ensemble cast that doesn’t have a video game adaptation. Of course, Smith and Bernardin could also have talked about the X-Men, the Inhumans, and the Thunderbolts.
After all, it’s best to wait for September 9th for the next day. Disney announced plans to host a video game showcase. The highlight is the wildly popular Skydance New Media game. LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is also coming to the event after a successful debut, which indicates a lot more content. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will be at the show, with an additional delay. We finally got to see Iron Man and Black Panther games from EA’s long-rumored hit.
Skydance’s Marvel game would probably be F4 from GamingLeaks and Raiders.
It’s strange that the Disney and Marvel Games Showcase isn’t showing a new Star Wars game from Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, but we hope that’s not the case. Even if we don’t see Hennig’s Star Wars project, we’d definitely like to hear more about Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.
The Fantastic Four movie was released on August 18. According to Kevin Feige, Marvel will skip the origins of the titular team and go straight to potentially cataclysmic events that will kick off Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The upcoming live-action adaptation of the Fantastic Four is without a director as Jon Watts dropped out earlier this year.
