Valve has apparently developed a year review feature that will show users exactly how much time they’ve spent on the platform over the past 12 months. Think of a TV, but instead of reminding you which song you’ve heard a thousand times, it’ll highlight your own game for 500 hours.
THE VIDEO OF THE GAMER’S DAY.
Don’t panic though, there is a mention of Spotify Wrapped. It’s still October. 2022 is going slowly but not that fast. The reason it’s being referenced here is that Valve seems to be working on a video game tribute on Steam. Data scientist Pavel Djundik posted some pretty strong hints on Twitter that this would likely have been the case.
Please don’t use any more rockets!
In fact, as you can see from the tweets below, it looks like a working interface is already in place. If you’re okay, Steam’s Yearly Summary will let you know what games you’ve played and how long you’ve played them up to the second. The survey also revealed the number of times you played each game. Now it will take your calculations to determine how long each session is rated on average.
There are more features in this article as well, and we’ll also let you know exactly how you split your Steam time throughout the year. If you were lucky enough to own one, how much of your time playing video games was spent on Windows, VR, and your Steam Deck?
Spotify isn’t the only service offering a year-in-review feature, of course. In fact, if the Steam split does roll out in 2022, it won’t be the first such game service to launch in the first stage. Both Nintendo and PlayStation have told those who want to know how much time they’ve spent on their systems in recent years. For some reason, Xbox hasn’t offered this option in the past, but maybe it will work on something too.
