Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic: Remake development change?

Dennis Leschnikowski 08/18/2022 11:05 am

A few weeks ago it was rumored that the remake of the classic RPG Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic had been postponed to an indefinite date. The Embracer group presumably also decided to take the remake to a new development studio.

In September last year, Embracer released a remake of bioWare’s classic RPG Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, which was developed by Aspyrs remaster and port specialists under the supervision of Saber Interactive.

In the present case, the focus is on the word. Following the announcement of the rumored Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake being postponed to an indefinite date, the developers have now confirmed that a triple-A project has undergone a developer change.

The Embracer Group did not give a specific name, but noted that the project in question was housed in an internal studio. Due to the rumors surrounding the postponement, it has been speculated that Embracer Group should be referring to Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic here.

Will you get out of bed until 2025?

One of the group’s projects has been moved to another studio within the group. We should make sure that the quality bar was the best place to get the title. We do not anticipate any significant title delays due to this transition, Embracer said in an official statement.

According to unconfirmed reports, the studio Saber Interactive, which supported the original version of Star Wars: The Knights of the Old Republic, will start a new edition with immediate effect. The remake is not scheduled for 2025.
