Seahawks starter Damien Lewis was injured in a preseason game
The Seahawks just realized the worst preseason fears of any NFL team.
A starter is injured, apparently seriously.

Left guard Damien Lewis went down at the end of a running play early in the second quarter of Seattle’s second preseason game Thursday night against the Chicago Bears. As the entire Seahawks team huddled at midfield near the downed Lewis, medical personnel inflated an air cast over Lewis’ lower right leg.
A motorized cart took him from the field to the tunnel from which injured players are usually taken to nearby Harborview Medical Center by ambulance.
The Seahawks announced minutes later that Lewis was out for the rest of the game with an ankle injury. He may be fractured, given the medical attention he received in the field.
Coach Pete Carroll said this month that he believes his team has three starting-caliber guards. Phil Haynes will now have the chance to prove his manager right. It now seems likely that the Seahawks’ 2019 fourth-round draft pick will start this season with veteran Gabe Jackson as Seattle’s starting guard.
Seattle was trailing the Bears 10-0 in the second quarter when Lewis was injured.
