Nintendo is making the popular Pokemon Switch game free for a limited time

Coinciding with the 2022 Pokemon World Championships, Nintendo has decided to make a popular Pokemon game on Switch free to play for a limited time. There are several Pokemon games available on Switch at the moment, all of which have sold quite well. And while some fans would surely have liked to see Nintendo make games like Pokemon Sword/Shield, Shining Diamond/Shining Pearl Pokémonor Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu/Eevee are available free, the publisher is making a lesser-known entry in the franchise available to select Switch owners.

From tomorrow, August 18, and until August 31, DX Pox Tournament will be available to download and play for free on Nintendo Switch. First published in 2016, Pokemon Tournament was originally released as a Pokémon fighting game on the Wii U. After the disappointing success of the Nintendo console, the game was later ported to the Switch as DX Pox Tournament. This edition of the game featured more characters than usual and was generally well received by critics and fans alike.

As expected with this offer, however, Nintendo is unwilling to do so DX Pox Tournament completely free for all Switch owners. Instead, this offer is only available to those who subscribe to Nintendo Switch Online. This is something we’ve seen Nintendo do in the past with their Game Trial program, so this shouldn’t come as a shock by any means. And considering how many millions of Switch Online subscribers there are, there’s a good chance you could qualify for this promotion.

In addition to being free for the rest of the month, Nintendo has also chosen to lower the price DX Pox Tournament 30% on Switch. So if you give the game a shot and enjoy it for yourself, you can buy it outright for a lower cost than normal. Again, though, this offer is one that’s only available to Switch Online members.

You are going to look to give DX Pox Tournament a pic for you while it’s free on Switch? Or do you already have the game for yourself? Let me know in the comments or send me a message on Twitter at @MooreMan12.
