Lakers news: Where to watch South Bay Lakers games this year: All Lakers

Your Los Angeles Lakers NBA G League affiliate in El Segundo, the South Bay Lakers, will kick off their 2022-23 season tonight at 5 p.m. against the Stockton Kings, an affiliate of the Sacramento NBAGL.

Scotty Pippen Jr. and Cole Swider, both currently practicing with South Bay, want to see significant minutes with LA’s development team this season. While Swider is currently sidelined with a stress reaction in his right foot, Pippen, a Villanova point guard (and, yes, son of Chicago Bulls legend Scottie Pippen) is healthy and will suit up for South Bay.

Two-way players typically alternate between the G League and the NBA during an NBA season. They can now appear in up to 50 of their team’s 82 games before their contracts must become standard roster deals. If a two-way player’s team wants him to participate in the postseason, that club must convert the deal to a contract on its standard 15-man roster.

Streaming information comes primarily through the South Bay team website. The league also announced in a press release that two of South Bay’s games against anticipated No. 2 overall pick in the 2023 draft, G League Ignite point guard Scoot Henderson, will air on the network affiliates of ESPN.
