After Wednesday night’s wild, dramatic finish in which the Guardians scored six runs after going on three hits, Tito said it had a lot to do with the team’s hustle. He said, “How many times did you hear me say keep playing, keep playing? That was kind of better…”
He’s been a focal point all season and that’s clear when you watch the team. They sprint down the base paths and continue to create close plays.
This fuss isn’t something you just see when you look at them, it shows up in the box score as well.
In that wild finish Wednesday night over the Detroit Tigers. Amed Rosario he hit a soft ground ball to the third baseman who tried to throw the ball to first and get him out. However, Rosario was making her way over the line and overcame it.
This time in the infield he scored a run that would tie the game and Rosario would end up reaching to score to extend the score.
One hit on the field may seem small, but the Guardians have been doing it all season. They are tied for second in baseball with 111, which is also the most in the American League.

A team doesn’t accumulate so many infield hits because of luck. It requires a mindset that I’m sure the Guardians have.
It’s been a lot of fun watching this team play this season, especially when they make big plays in a hurry. It shows that these works are not only big in the moment, but also in the big picture.
