No LKSSAA playoff games have yet been postponed due to the Canadian Union of Public Employees strike that has closed many Ontario public and Catholic schools.
“LKSSAA is closely monitoring the CUPE industrial action,” said a message posted Friday on the Lambton Kent High Schools Athletic Association website. “We are currently making alternative plans for athletics for our autumn championships.”
High school officials are in talks to hold some games at Lambton College in Sarnia and the Chatham campus of St. Clair College.
The OFSAA Cross Country Championships will go ahead as planned on Saturday in Uxbridge.
The LKSSAA senior soccer semifinal scheduled for Saturday at Ursuline will also be played. The Lancers host the Chatham-Kent Golden Hawks at noon.

Lily Heynsbergen led the Eagles with 17.
The Cardinals were first in the regular season with a 7-1 record.
CJ Roberts rushed for touchdowns of eight and 37 yards in the second half of the Ursuline Lancers’ 18-1 semifinal victory over the Northern Vikings in LKSSAA junior football Thursday in Sarnia.
Alex Amores Carlone ran 11 times for 108 yards, Roberts gained 101 yards on six carries and Sawyer Emmott kicked an 18-yard field goal, two extra points and a red.
Jayden Baylis and Jude Sherbourne each had seven tackles for the Lancers and Roberts had four.
The teams were tied 1-1 at halftime.
“This was our most complete game,” Lancers head coach Adam McCabe said. “We controlled the ball well in attack and the defense punished. Special teams had a big comeback that woke us up and the final field goal was big. We come together at the right time.”
Chatham-Kent is scheduled to visit St. Patrick’s in the other semifinal at 4:30 p.m. Monday at Norm Perry Park in Sarnia.
The LKSSAA senior girls’ basketball AAA semifinals are set for Wednesday: Ursuline at St. Patrick’s at 5:30 p.m., and Chatham-Kent at Northern at 7 p.m. The final will be on Saturday, November 12.
The senior AA semifinals are also Wednesday: Lambton Central at Great Lakes at 4 p.m. and McGregor at Wallaceburg at 5:30 p.m. The final will be on Friday, November 11.
The Senior A semi-finals are on Tuesday: North Lambton at Saint-Francois-Xavier at 5.30pm, and Lambton-Kent at Blenheim at 5.30pm. The final will be on Thursday.

Northern will host Chatham-Kent in the other semifinal at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday for the right to visit St. Patrick’s on the last Saturday, November 12.
Lambton Central hosts Wallaceburg in the AA semifinal Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. The winner will visit the Great Lakes on the last Friday, November 11th.
