With a looming recession, rising interest rates, a tight job market and skyrocketing consumer goods prices, Southern Nevadans are preparing for what’s to come without a road map clear about what the economy will be like next week, let alone next year. .
Economic diversification has long been touted as the solution to building a stronger and more resilient economy. During UNLV’s Fall Nov. 17, economists from the Lee Business School’s Center for Business and Economic Research (CBER) and a panel of experts will explore whether the fast-growing clean energy industry can be a catalyst to help diversify Southern Nevada’s economy, and will address other pressing issues:
Tina Quigley, President and CEO of LVGEA, will moderate a panel of experts who will explore the opportunities and challenges of the clean energy industry as a catalyst for diversifying our economy. Panelists include:
CBER’s US and Southern Nevada forecasts for 2023 and 2024 will be presented by Andrew Woods and Stephen Miller. Ken Heck, CEO of Heck Wealth Management, will moderate.
The event will be held from 7:30 to 10:15 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 17 at the Strip View Pavilion inside UNLV’s Thomas & Mack Center. For tickets and additional event details, visit the CBER website.
