Democrat Linda Stewart wins the 17th state Senate District seat.

Update at 21:45:

Rep. Carlos Guillermo Smith lost his re-election campaign to Republican Susan Plasencia in Florida House District 37.

Democrat Anna Eskamani won re-election to the Florida House District 42 seat.

9.10pm update:

Wilton Simpson won the Florida Commissioner of Agriculture race, and Jimmy Patronis won the Florida Chief Financial Officer race.

Update at 20:55:

Democrat Darren Soto has regained his seat representing District 9 in the United States House. Soto defeated Republican Scotty Moore.

20:51 update:

Orange County voters on Tuesday rejected a one-cent surcharge on the transportation system.

According to early results, 58.46% of voters voted against the penny tax in Orange County.

The 1 percent sales tax increase would have paid for an expanded bus system, a SunRail system, and countywide road and bike lane projects.

Republican Matt Gaetz has won the US House District 1 seat.

Charlie Crist has yielded to Governor Ron DeSantis.

20:10 update:

Republican Bill Posey has regained his U.S. House District 8 seat and Republican Cory Mills won the U.S. House District 7 race.

Update at 8:03 p.m.:

Republican Daniel Webster has won re-election to the US House in Florida’s 11th Congressional District and Republican Michael Waltz has won re-election to the US House in Florida’s 6th Congressional District.

8pm update:

Governor Ron DeSantis, Senator Marco Rubio and Attorney General Ashley Moody have regained their seats.

19:50 update:

Democrat Maxwell Alejandro Frost defeated Republican Calvin B. Wimbish to become the first member of Generation Z to win a seat in Congress.

Early polling data from the midterm elections shows Frost receiving 59% of the vote to Wimbish’s 39%.

7pm update:

The polls have closed in Florida. Results are coming in across the state.

Update at 2:30 p.m.:

Polls across Florida are open until 7:00 p.m

In Lake County, there have been no reported issues with many voters experiencing minimal wait times at most locations.

At a polling place in Leesburg, a steady stream of eligible voters could be seen.

12 noon update:

The Seminole County Supervisor of Elections reported more than 25,000 people voted since polls opened Tuesday.

8:30 am Update:

The Osceola County Supervisor of Elections reported that nearly 600 people voted in the first 18 minutes of the polls opening.

The Brevard County Supervisor of Elections is reminding residents to check their polling place before heading out to vote.

7am update:

Polls are now open across Central Florida. Polling places for registered voters are scheduled to remain open until 7 p.m. Tuesday.
