Deadly crash in Tampa involving vehicle and motorcycle closes lanes, police say

A fatal crash closed part of West Boy Scout Boulevard in both directions Thursday night, according to the Tampa Police Department.

The collision, which involved a vehicle and a motorcycle, happened in the area of ​​West Boy Scout Boulevard and North Manhattan Avenue around 8:11 p.m., police said.

Boy Scout Boulevard is closed between North Manhattan Avenue and North Lois Avenue in both directions, the department said in a news release at 9:15 p.m.

The lane closures are expected to last several hours, police said. Drivers are asked to avoid the area and find alternate routes.

The investigation is ongoing.
