PLAINFIELD – A local man was charged Wednesday evening with breaking into and robbing a Moosup pizzeria last year, according to the Plainfield Police Department.
Michael Moon, 51, was charged with first-degree burglary, first-degree criminal mischief and third-degree burglary. His bond was set at $75,000 and Moon is scheduled to appear in Danielson Superior Court on Thursday, police said in a news release.
Police went to Edi’s Place, a pizza place on Ward Avenue in the Moosup section of Plainfield, around 2 a.m. on September 6, 2021, after learning of a burglar alarm. At the restaurant, officers saw that a suspect had forced his way in and stolen some items.
After a lengthy investigation, police made Moon a suspect and later obtained an arrest warrant.
